The name bulldog, which is of medieval origin, refers to not only the robust look of a bulldog, which this dog has, but
also to the power with which this breed type attacked herding animals such as bulls in combat and as a working breed before
the practice of combat was prohibited by law in the nineteenth century. Most bulldog breeds are very much people dogs seek
out human attention and love every bit they can get. They are a very dominating type of dog and require strong handling. If
kept in the correct place in a family, a bull breed dog makes an affectionate and dependable animal, gentle with children
but will guard and protect his/her family. When yound these dogs are full of energy but do slow down with age and adapt very
well to their surroundings.
